Landmark Title Company is a midsize Title & Escrow Agency whose core values focus on customer service and team success. We currently have an opening for an experienced Escrow Assistant in our Sugarhouse office. We are looking for someone to fill this position who has a warm and engaging personality, who will make our customers feel like they are the most important people in the world just for walking through our door, and at the same time is excellent with data entry and modern computer skills.

The Escrow Assistant is responsible for assisting the Escrow Officer with closing and funding real estate transactions.

Responsibilities:
-Review real estate contracts and order preliminary information for the Escrow Officer(s).
-Accurately disburse funds and handle payoffs within 24 hours of closing.
-Balance Files.
-Wire transfers, deposits, writing checks for files.
-Customer Service: Dealing with lenders, agents, brokers, sellers, and buyers.
-Monthly Bank Reconciliation on Trust/Escrow Accounts.
-Daily upload of positive pay into bank accounts to monitor fraud activity.
-Assist Escrow Officer with timely closing/transfer of title.
-Prepare legal documents. 
-Prepare and check Closing Disclosure/HUD paperwork.
-Internal transfers within files, and internal transfers with outside AST offices.
-Policy writeups.
-Email/Phone correspondence with lenders, agents, brokers, sellers, and buyers.
-Call clients when file is recorded and funds have been disbursed.
-Process documents and reviewing compliance for loan product.

-Request payoff on existing mortgage loans.
-Order all required verifications, documentation, and subsequent follow-ups.
-Process updates/amends.
-Answers multiple phones efficiently and with utmost Customer Service, transfer to the appropriate party, take detailed messages.
-Order office supplies through vendor.
-Compile grocery list and occasional shopping for office supplies.
-Maintain Conference/Closing room calendars and ensure room is ready for meetings/closings.
-Clean office weekly.
-Basic Computer knowledge; Outlook E-mail, Google Docs, Turbo Title.
-Accepts other responsibilities and duties that may be assigned.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and able to type professional email correspondence
  • High attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Strong telephone etiquette skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

  • Must pass a background check
  • High School Diploma or GED required
